After accidentally posting a partial list of those who passed the New York bar exam for a brief time last week, the state Board of Law Examiners decided to make the full pass list for the July exam public earlier than expected.

Initially, the plan was to alert test-takers tomorrow and post a public list Wednesday, the New York Law Journal reports. But the full list was made available online on Friday after the snafu.

No confidential information was released accidentally, notes John McAlary, who serves as the board’s executive director.

The pass rate was 86 percent among first-time takers of the exam who graduated from American Bar Association-accredited law schools.
