Prosecutor is critically wounded when shot in what DA calls a domestic incident
A Georgia prosecutor has been hospitalized in critical condition after being shot Friday morning along with another person.
There is no reason to believe the shooting of April McConnell is related to her work as a Fulton County prosecutor, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said the shooting is thought to be a domestic incident.
Relying on reporting by other news media, the AJC article says McConnell filed for divorce Monday.
An Atlanta police spokesman interviewed on a televised news report by WSB said it appears that both individuals shot were sitting inside the same vehicle and that a window had been blown out. He also said the incident may be domestic.
An investigation is continuing.
