Asked on a recent multiple-choice survey to identify which of four individuals sits on the U.S. Supreme Court bench, 62 percent of college graduates correctly picked Justice Elena Kagan.

However, 10 percent selected TV’s Judge Judy Sheindlin, whose long-running court show’s high ratings have made her a household name. Among survey participants who haven’t graduated from college, 13 percent picked Judge Judy, according to CNN, the New York Daily News and the New York Post.

Administered by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, the poll revealed many college graduates among the 1,000 surveyed individuals are “alarmingly ignorant of America’s history and heritage,” the group says.

More than half of the college graduates who participated were unaware of the process for ratifying constitutional amendments, as well as the fact that trials are held in the U.S. Senate if a president is impeached.
