Thanks to Serendipity, Ex-Corporate Lawyer Launches Sandwich Bag Company
Cris Bourelly was taking some time off from corporate law practice to raise her children when her life took a green turn.
Bourelly was putting together a “trash free” lunch basket for a preschool charity auction with another mom, but they couldn’t find a green replacement for the plastic sandwich bag, the Washington Post reports.
Their search led them to manufacturer their own. Their new product, LunchSkins, comes in bold prints, has a polyurethane liner, and can be washed in the dishwasher and reused, the story says.
Bourelly launched a new company to make LunchSkins with the other mom, Kirsten Quigley, who reflected on their new line of work in an interview with the Post.
“You never anticipate when something is going to take shape like this,” Quigley told the newspaper. “It’s the serendipity in life; the right person, right time, right idea. … Half of life is being ready to take charge when you see something good.”
