Arent Fox and Schiff Hardin announced Wednesday that they will merge March 1, creating a law firm with more than 600 lawyers and policy professionals.

The new firm will be known as ArentFox Schiff, according to a press release. The merger will put the firm on the Am Law 100 list of the nation’s highest-grossing law firms, according to Law.com, Bloomberg Law and Reuters.

Combined revenue of the law firms is more than $475 million, which would put ArentFox Schiff among the nation’s top 80 law firms, according to a fact sheet.

The combined firm will have offices in Washington, D.C.; Chicago; New York; Los Angeles; Boston; San Francisco; and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The merged firm’s chair will be Anthony V. Lupo of Arent Fox. Its co-managing partners will be Cristina A. Carvalho of Arent Fox and Joseph J. Krasovec III of Schiff Hardin.

“It’s a compelling deal. I was most impressed with how complementary our practices are,” Lupo told Law.com. “There were so many areas that we were lined up right next to each other. We were both in the same industry, but we weren’t competing with each other. It was a very robust combination.”
