UK Socialite Who Won $1 Billion Divorce Settlement Files for Bankruptcy
Once dubbed the wealthiest divorcée in history, Patricia Kluge, a British socialite, vintner and former adult-film actress, filed for bankruptcy with her third husband.
Although Kluge received the 23,500-square-foot Albermarle House and 3,000 acres of rural Virginia land when she divorced billionaire media mogul John W. Kluge in 1990, the couple estimates liabilities of up to $50 million, the Associated Press reports.
Kluge has since sold the Virginia estate, along with antiques, fine art and jewelry, including Roman statues and 64 carats worth of diamonds, according to the Telegraph. Donald Trump purchased most of Kluge’s winery and vineyard in April.
When asked yesterday by the Telegraph where all her money had gone, Kluge said: “That’s a very long story”. Her husband, Bill Moses, has said: “We spent too much, too fast.”
