Which six law firms made Fortune's list of 100 best companies to work for?
Baker Donelson is the 31st-best company to work for in the United States, according to Fortune’s list of 100 top workplaces.
It’s the best ranking ever for Baker Donelson, which outranked five other law firms that made the 2014 list, according to a press release. They are: Alston & Bird (40th), Perkins Coie (41st), Bingham McCutchen (60th), Arnold & Porter (81st) and Cooley (100th).
Fortune praises Baker Donelson because more than half its staffers are women and because of its “visionary” CEO. The firm has a monthly “recess at work” day where employees play games such as dodge ball and tag, according to this summary. Eighty-seven percent of its employees say they are treated as full members of the organization, regardless of their position.
Bingham got top billing in Fortune’s list of top 10 perks for offering its Boston-based employees two box seats to a Red Sox game annually, including playoffs and championships. “Seniority determines eligibility,” Fortune says, “but Bingham says it makes every effort to include as many of its lawyers as possible.” The firm also offers concert tickets in office raffles.
Cooley was 10th on the perks list for rewarding good work with “Snooze or Cruise” certificates that allow employees to come in two hours late or leave two hours early on the day of their choosing.
Bingham, Cooley, Perkins Coie, Arnold & Porter made Fortune’s list of 10 top paying companies.
