Woman is convicted for bogus court papers served on judge and lawyer
A Texas woman has been fined $500 and sentenced to two years of probation for her role in serving bogus court orders on a judge and lawyer involved in a foreclosure case against her.
The woman, Susan Cammack of Hunt, Texas, was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of simulating legal process, report the San Antonio Express-News, TheEagle.com and the Associated Press.
Cammack is a member of the Republic of Texas, a group that believes Texas is a separate nation. The court papers ordered the lawyer and judge to appear at an “international common law court” that met at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
On the witness stand, Cammack admitted she initiated complaints about the lawyer and judge but denied serving the court orders.
