Yale Law School is renowned for its rare book collection. But it also hopes to make a name for itself as the official repository of the U.S. Supreme Court bobbleheads.

“The bobbleheads are, not to overstate it, a little bit more than toys,” admits Ross Davies to the New York Times. He is editor in chief of The Green Bag, the alternative law journal that created the popular plastic portrayals of the justices of the nation’s top court.

However, the bobbleheads should also be archived for future study in 100 years, which is where the Lillian Goldman Law Library comes in, says associate librarian Fred Shapiro. Meanwhile, a few are on exhibit at the library along with some rare manuscript fragments in law book bindings.

A future exhibit will focus on the lawyer in comic books.
