Zack, who fled Cuba as a teen during the 1961 revolution, keeps a copy of the old Cuban constitution, which he says is virtually identical to ours, on his desk to remind him that words alone won’t protect our rights. “We all need to do our part to ensure that the words in the Constitution are not just words,” he says.
