The ABA Journal is read by half of the nation’s 1 million lawyers every month. It covers the trends, people and finances of the legal profession from Wall Street to Main Street to Pennsylvania Avenue.
Our articles are written by our staff reporters or by freelance journalists we hire for specific assignments. We do not publish unsolicited manuscripts, but we will consider queries. We use freelancers with experience reporting for legal or consumer publications; most have law degrees. If you are interested in freelancing for the Journal, we urge you to include your resumé and published clips when you contact us with story ideas.
Freelance journalists should send queries to Sarah Randag by e-mail at releases@abanet.org or by fax to (312) 988-6025.
We generally cover events only as part of larger trend stories. Public relations professionals should not waste their time—or ours—by sending us information about minor career changes, routine office expansions, law firm seminars, or the like. However, if your law firm or any of its individual members author regularly updated blawgs, please submit them to our blawg directory.
