An Alabama woman has been sentenced to 219 years in prison for her involvement in a child sex ring.

Wendy Holland, 35, was convicted last month on sodomy, sexual abuse and other charges, the Associated Press reports.

Holland was part of a group of relatives and friends accused of molesting multiple children over a period of years. She is the widow of the group’s alleged leader, Donnie Holland, and the mother of another defendant in the case, her 22-year-old son Donald Paul Holland Jr.

Another defendant, William Brownlee, who was convicted of sodomy and sexual abuse, was also sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison.

Baldwin Council Circuit Judge Jody Bishop, who gave each defendant the maximum sentenced, said they both deserved more time behind bars. Each still faces additional charges.

The sex ring came to light after the disappearance of a 19-year-old woman and suspected victim in 2012. The woman remains missing and is presumed dead.
