An Australian woman has retained famed celebrity lawyer Raoul Felder to file a paternity suit today against Steven Soderbergh. The 48-year-old directed Ocean’s Eleven, Sex, Lies and Videotape and Traffic, among other critically acclaimed movies.

Frances Lawrencina Anderson, whose age and occupation are unknown, says in her Manhattan Supreme Court suit that Soderbergh has acknowledged his 5-month-old daughter and offered to pay some expenses, according to the New York Daily News and the New York Post.

The suit alleges that they got together in late 2009, while Soderbergh was in Australia directing a play.

The litigation seeks a declaration of paternity and unspecified child support.

Soderbergh’s lawyer and manager couldn’t immediately be reached for comment, the Post says.
