McDermott Will & Emery’s telecommunications practice chair is leaving with three other partners for Fish & Richardson’s regulatory and government affairs group in Washington, D.C.

The former telecom chair, Shirley Fujimoto, and Jeffrey Sheldon will become partners at Fish & Richardson; David Rines and Kevin Cookler will be of counsel, the Blog of Legal Times reports.

Bobby Burchfield, co-chair of McDermott’s Washington office, says the departures of Fujimoto’s group are “not a complete goodbye” because McDermott will continue to work with them. Fujimoto did not immediately return the Blog of Legal Times’ calls for comment.

A foursome of employment benefits partners from McDermott moved to Proskauer Rose’s Washington, D.C., office—three of them becoming senior counsel at their new firm—in October.
