A Michigan lawyer has been charged with a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession, after a small metal container in which he allegedly kept the illicit substance set off the metal detector as he was entering a local courthouse.
Unnamed sources explained that Edwin Hettinger, 48, of Portage, was charged after he set off the metal detector last month when he tried to enter Kalamazoo County's main courthouse with the metal container, reports the Kalamazoo Gazette.
He could not be reached by the newspaper for comment.

This lawyer should also be charged with gross stupidity.
PRACTICE TIP: It’s a bad idea to have dope on your person when passing through security check points of any kind—especially those manned by law enforcement officers.
