NY Bar Exam Marred by Glitch

Bar examiners in New York suspect a software glitch caused test takers to experience problems this week saving and uploading their essays.
Diane Bosse, chairwoman of the Board of Law Examiners, told the New York Law Journal that officials are trying to determine if any answers were lost. She says the board suspects the problem was caused by flawed software, purchased by test takers who wanted to use their laptops during the exam.
The software is intended to lock in answers to exam questions, which can be uploaded later. The software's maker has sent e-mails to test takers explaining the uploading procedure.
"I don't want to alarm people," Bosse told the legal newspaper. "I hope we don't make people unduly concerned. We are working to see if this problem is a problem."
