Still Looking for Work in Bad Economy: Former AG Alberto Gonzales

More than 16 months after he announced his resignation after scathing criticism over alleged politicization of Justice Department hiring practices and policies related to the war on terror, former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is still looking for another job.
But the 53-year-old is upbeat about his search for work, and is busy writing a book in the meantime that he hopes will set the record straight about what really happened in Washington, reports the Austin American-Statesman. He plans to move with his family back to Texas soon, probably to the Houston area.
"It's a rough economy right now, and it's a tough time for a lot of law firms right now. Obviously they are very careful about bringing on new people, and they are going to be careful about bringing on people where there are questions about things that may have happened in their past," Gonzales tells the newspaper. "Over time, I'm confident those things will be resolved, and things will work themselves out."
