At least 13 lawyers from Dewey & LeBoeuf are moving to Katten Muchin Rosenman, including four structured finance partners and a tax partner.

Among those making the move is the former co-chair of Dewey’s structured finance group, Christopher DiAngelo, the Am Law Daily reports. His clients are mostly in the area of residential mortgages, but he hopes auto issuers represented by his group at Dewey will move with him to Katten.

DiAngelo told the Am Law Daily he doubts there will be much activity in residential mortgages until the end of next year, but the market for commercial mortgage-backed securities is on the upswing. He also sees opportunities in structured finance in Latin America and the Persian Gulf.

Eight Dewey associates will also make the move to Katten.
