C. Allen Parker Will Be Cravath's Next Presiding Partner; Evan Chesler to Assume New Chairman Role
C. Allen Parker will be the next presiding partner of Cravath Swaine & Moore, the firm announced Thursday.
Current presiding partner Evan R. Chesler is required to step down, because he turns 63 this year, but will assume a newly created position as chairman on Jan. 1, 2013, the same day that Parker takes the helm, according to the New York Times’ DealBook blog and Reuters.
Parker, 57, has a corporate practice and advises a number of banking and finance clients.
