Defendant attorney in shooting case wants prosecutor booted because he lives in same neighborhood
A West Virginia lawyer charged with attempted murder after a standoff with police at his home–in which he reportedly fired multiple shots but injured no one except himself–is now seeking to get a prosecutor removed from the case.
The reason: The Kanawha County prosecutor, Mark Plants, lives in the same upscale neighborhood as defendant attorney Mark Bramble, 49, and hence could be considered a victim in the case, reports the Charleston Gazette.
The recusal motion filed by Bramble’s lawyer, Trent Redman, also seeks to disqualify the prosecutor’s office.
