A former partner at Hunton & Williams was sentenced Monday to 70 months in prison for viewing child pornography on a law firm laptop.

Ex-partner Emerson Briggs had pleaded guilty in September to one count of receiving child pornography, Legal Times reports. He admitted that he downloaded pornographic videos while at the law firm in Washington, D.C. Some videos portrayed minors under the age of 12, prosecutors say.

Briggs’ lawyer, Bruce Bishop of Steptoe & Johnson, said in court papers that his client had never had any improper contact with a minor, “online or otherwise,” the story says. Briggs’ wife said in a letter to the judge that her husband is “ashamed and remorseful about his past actions.”
