A prosecutor-turned-criminal defense lawyer in Atlanta has been charged with intent to distribute methamphetamine and ecstasy after his arrest in a drug sting.

Rand Csehy was released from jail on Thursday on a $25,000 signature bond, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. He is a former Fulton County, Ga., prosecutor who helped send courthouse shooter Brian Nichols to prison for the deaths of a judge and three others.

Csehy’s clients include drug cartels and dealers, the story says. He was in the news last August when he told police a client attacked him as he was getting into his vehicle.
