Gibson Dunn Opens in Dubai

Gibson Dunn & Crutcher is planning to open an office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before the end of the year.

The office will be the firm’s first outside the United States and Europe, Legal Week reports. It will be staffed with lawyers from those offices and new English and American recruits, the firm said in a news release.

Washington tax partner Peter Baumbusch will oversee the opening and expansion of the office. “It makes sense for us to open a Dubai office,” he said. “Investment activity in the Gulf states and the Middle East just continues to grow.”
