Trying to put an end to the sniping between a prosecutor and a defense lawyer in a high-profile murder case, a Florida judge warned both on Friday that he would fine them $100, from this point forward, each time they spoke to each other rather than addressing their comments to the bench as they are supposed to do.

“Gentlemen, if you start talking to each other, prepare to pull out $100 and hand it to the clerk each time you do it,” Judge Belvin Perry told prosecutor Jeff Ashton and defense lawyer Jose Baez on Friday during a pretrial hearing in Orlando, Fla. The case is expected to go to trial in May, WKMG reported.

Anthony, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her young daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in late 2008.
