Law firm sued over claimed use of competitor's name as Google AdWords
A Florida law firm has sued a competing personal injury shop over its alleged use of the plaintiff firm’s name as Google Adwords to drive search-engine traffic.
Filed in Miami, the federal lawsuit brought by high-profile plaintiffs firm Steinger, Iscoe & Greene against attorney Paul K. Schrier asserts claims for unfair competition, trademark infringement and violation of the Anti-Cybersquating Consumer Protection Act, the Daily Business Review reports.
“This lawsuit is a warning to all law firms in the state of Florida that they need to cease infringing on the Steinger, Iscoe & Greene trademark to line their pockets with money,” said Michael J. Pike of Pike & Lustig, who filed suit on behalf of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene.
Schrier, whose website is known as FirstCallPaul.com, declined to comment on pending litigation. However, the article says he stopped using the Steinger firm’s name as Google AdWords after receiving a cease-and-desist letter.
