At one time, Pastor Bruce Zachary was a lawyer.

Now he is lead pastor of Calvary Nexus in Camarillo, ministering to more than 1,000 parishioners, the Acorn reports.

Zachary grew up in an Orthodox Jewish family, but he converted to Christianity 20 years ago after attending church with his real-estate agent, the story says. He continued working as a lawyer when he attended Bible college and even when he first opened the church in Camarillo. A former bio says Zachary practiced workers’ compensation law and attended Southwestern University law school.

Now he devotes himself full-time to the church. “I thank God for the opportunity to do what I do,” he told the Acorn. “I love what I do.”
