Since 1955, David Chan has dined at 6,297 Chinese restaurants throughout the U.S. and beyond.

And he has the Excel spreadsheet to prove it, reports the Los Angeles Times (reg. req.).

An accountant and tax lawyer, Chan, 64, has become renowned among foodies for his gastronomic expertise. And he’s still going strong, eager to see for himself, even if others pan a new restaurant’s menu, what he thinks of the food.

“It doesn’t have to be authentic Chinese,” he tells the newspaper. “If it’s Chinese American, it’s all the more interesting.”
