The legal sector lost 1,000 jobs in December, after a similar job loss the month before.

The December job losses follow a decline of 900 jobs in the legal sector in November, revised from an earlier figure showing a loss of 1,100 jobs in November, according to seasonally adjusted numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Am Law Daily has the story.

Overall, however, the legal sector has more jobs than a year ago. The sector now has 1,105,700 jobs, which amounts to 1,200 more jobs than in December 2009.
