Paralegals Outrank Lawyers on Best Jobs List
A jobs website has once again ranked paralegal jobs higher than lawyer jobs.
The ranking by CareerCast.com puts paralegal jobs at No. 49 on the list, while judge is ranked 62nd and lawyer is 87th, the Legal Skills Prof Blog reports.
Last year, paralegal was ranked much higher, earning 13th place. The ranking is based on five criteria: physical demands, work environment, income, hiring outlook and stress. Income scores are based on estimated midlevel income and income growth potential.
This year, the income score is $47,159 for a paralegal, $119,429 for a judge, and $113,219 for a lawyer.
The top five jobs on this year’s list are:
1) Software engineer
2) Actuary
3) Human resources manager
4) Dental hygienist
5) Financial planner
