Reed Smith Lawyer Makes Calif. List of Delinquent Taxpayers

A tax lawyer at Reed Smith in San Francisco has made California’s list of its top 250 delinquent taxpayers.

Legal Pad reports that the lawyer, Jim Kleier, shares a spot on the list with singer Dionne Warwick and the comic Sinbad. California claims Kleier owes more than $440,000 in income taxes for the past decade, the blog says.

Kleier did not return Legal Pad’s calls for comment.

Since California has shown that it will screw responsible taxpayers by holding up their refunds, there should be no surprise here.  If I owed taxes in California, I would send them a nasty note on my way out of state to relocate my business elsewhere.  Give the cesspool back to Mexico.

In response to B. McLeod above—-what??! This “tax attorney” hasn’t been paying taxes for the past decade. California allegedly will “screw” responsible taxpayers this year. (A statement that’s absolutely untrue btw).  Did Kleier have a Magic 8 Ball back in 1999 that told him to not pay taxes because of the financial mess in 2009?
