Los Angeles will make it easier for gang members to be removed from injunctions that restrict their activities.

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo announced yesterday that he has established formal hearings in his office to review removal requests, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The injunctions are key in the city’s fight against gangs. Those named in the injunctions may not loiter with other gang members, drink alcohol and ignore curfews.

Some city council members had questioned why none of the 11,000 people on the list had ever gotten their names removed.
