Trump ally Roger Stone says he will voluntarily testify before House Intelligence Committee

Trump associate Roger Stone says he will voluntarily testify on Sept. 26 before the House Intelligence Committee in its investigation of Russian interference in the election.
Stone said in a statement that he will voluntarily testify in the closed session, though he has sought an open hearing, report Reuters, CNN, Politico and ABC News.
Stone and the Trump campaign are defendants in a privacy invasion lawsuit filed by Obama administration lawyers over the leak of emails from the Democratic National Committee, though the suit contains no hard evidence either defendant was involved.
Stone told ABC in March that he has had “no contacts of collusion with the Russians.”
“There is no collusion, none—at least none that I know about, in Donald Trump’s campaign for president,” he told ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos.
“I have again asked for immediate release of the transcripts so that there will be no confusion or misinformation about my testimony,” Stone said in his statement, provided by his lawyer, Grant Smith. “I very much look forward to testifying and I am anxious to correct a number of the misstatements by committee members regarding my activities in 2016.”
