Donald Trump has hired A.B. Culvahouse, a partner at O’Melveny & Myers, to review potential running mates in his GOP presidential bid.
Culvahouse vetted Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate in 2008, NBC News, Bloomberg Politics, Bloomberg Big Law Business and CNN report. Culvahouse, a former chairman of O’Melveny, was White House counsel to President Ronald Reagan and helped handle the failed U.S. Supreme Court nomination of Robert Bork.
In a 2012 commentary for the Wall Street Journal, Culvahouse says he told McCain he believed Palin could grow into the position of vice president, and selecting her was “high-risk, high-reward.”
