A 67-year-old partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld apparently set a world record on his birthday.

R. Laurence Macon says he completed his 113th marathon this year on Saturday in Allen, Texas, Reuters reports. If he documents the 2011 total, he will break the record, a spokesperson for Guinness World Records tells Reuters. The litigator is already in the books for running 106 marathons in 2010, tying the world record.

Macon runs as many as seven marathons in a week and sometimes does legal work while running. In one case, he conducted a conference call about a multimillion-dollar case during the Boston Marathon.

Though Macon completes marathons, he doesn’t win them or run particularly fast. Instead, he tells Reuters, he just “goes out there and puts one foot in front of the other.” He started running at the age of 49 and hopes he will inspire others to take up exercise.
