Arrested in Court Yesterday, Attorney David Dunn Gets Personal Bond Today in Perjury Conspiracy Case
A criminal defense lawyer who started the day in a Michigan court yesterday expecting to represent a client in a murder trial spent the night in jail after being arrested on perjury and conspiracy charges.
However, David Dunn was released on $500,000 personal bond today after appearing on video in green prison scrubs from the Wayne County Jail for his arraignment, according to the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News. He was held there in protective custody, away from the rest of the inmate population.
Dunn, 42, and his client, Andre Collins, 22, are accused of seeking to get witnesses in his capital murder case to spin their testimony in Collins’ favor.
Dunn’s lawyer, Kareem Johnson, entered his plea of not guilty.
