A dispute broke out Tuesday at a Los Angeles jail between two different sets of lawyers for Dr. Conrad Murray, resulting in an ongoing battery investigation by the county sheriff’s department.

Valerie Wass, who is representing Conrad Murray on appeal, said she was “forced” by attorney Ryan Flanagan out of a lawyer visiting room at the Men’s Central Jail after she opened the door Tuesday, and she filed a police report about the incident, the Los Angeles TImes’ L.A. Now blog reports. J. Michael Flanagan, who was also present in the room with Murray and sought to defuse the situation, was Murray’s trial attorney, and Ryan Flanagan is his son.

Murray, who was Michael Jackson’s personal physician, is appealing his involuntary manslaughter sentence over his role in the famous pop singer’s 2009 death.

Both Wass and the senior Flanagan also represent Murray before the California Medical Board.
