Evidence of the trend comes on the job front: Citigroup is hiring a lawyer to oversee its presence on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
His or her duties will include overseeing social media in three spheres:
• Online content on company websites, Twitter accounts and YouTube.
• Social media interaction between Citi and third parties.
• Employee participation in social media.
