A Wisconsin judge sent a lawyer to the parking lot on Wednesday to remove a message he had scrawled on his car window supporting his TV actor client.

Judge Paul Malloy of Port Washington gave lawyer Thomas Alberti five minutes to remove the message on the rear window of his BMW. Alberti represents former Saved by the Bell cast member Dustin Diamond, who is accused of stabbing a bar patron while out with his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz. Diamond played Samuel “Screech” Powers on the TV show.

The car’s message read, “Good luck to Dustin & Amanda.” People magazine summarizes coverage by 620WTMJ and CBS58, while the Associated Press has a story based on coverage by Fox6Now.

“I’m telling you right now, any more shenanigans like that and you’ll find yourself in contempt faster than fast,” Malloy said.

Diamond claims he was defending his girlfriend at the time of the incident and the stabbing was accidental.

“They’re just good people,” Alberti said of the couple in an interview with CBS58. “I want to put on a good defense for them. What they did wasn’t wrong. We’re going to prove that in court and no more messages on cars. We’ll do it in the courtroom.”

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has coverage of opening statements in this story. Alberti told jurors the stab wound was less than 10 millimeters wide. “We’re here over a nick in a drunk guy’s shoulder,” Alberti said.
