Newt Gingrich and Howard Dean may be on opposite ends of the political spectrum, but the two Dentons employees appeared united on Wednesday in their assessment of the future of Medicaid and Medicare.

Gingrich and Dean both said Medicare will be different in the future, though it will still exist, the Blog of Legal Times reports.

Dean said the Affordable Care Act will separate people’s access to health insurance from their job status. Gingrich, meanwhile saw changes ahead as a result of wearable electronic devices and startup companies.

President Johnson signed the law creating Medicaid and Medicare 50 years ago on Thursday.

Gingrich and Dean are public policy senior advisers at Dentons. According to the Blog of Legal Times, “the pair aims to become another Washington-based bipartisan tag team who can act as political soothsayers for whichever corporate clients call upon them.”

Gingrich commented on their joint appearance after the panel discussion, according to the Blog of Legal Times account. “Howard and I have always had a great personal relationship,” Gingrich said. “We both at one time thought we could be president.”
