House Intelligence Chairman Asks Attorney General to Stop Probe of CIA Interrogations
House intelligence chairman Mike Rogers is asking the Justice Department to halt its investigation of CIA interrogations of terrorism suspects.
The Associated Press obtained a copy of the Michigan Republican’s letter to Attorney General Eric Holder. Rogers writes that the interrogations were a “vital part of the chain” that helped the United States find Osama bin Laden.
The Justice Department has been investigating a mock execution and other harsh terrorism tactics since 2009, the story says.
