Add another group of workers to the ever-increasing ranks of those claiming to have been misclassified (and underpaid) as independent contractors: exotic dancers.

Four have filed a federal suit in Los Angeles, claiming that 19 nightclubs there violate federal and state law by not paying exotic dancers any wages and forcing them to share their tips, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Attorney Patrick Manshardt represents all four. He says they were forced to sign “independent contractor” agreements under duress, and that the agreements are hence invalid.
