A disbarred Austin, Texas, lawyer who was accused of living in the home of a client who died and driving the car of another has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Terry Erwin Stork, 70, could have been sentenced to life, the Austin American-Statesman reports. During the sentencing hearing, Travis County Assistant District Attorney Patty Robertson said Stork may have stolen more than $700,000 from deceased clients’ estates over two decades. She also said he may have continued to practice law after his disbarment using his brother’s name.

Stork pleaded guilty to felony theft charges in June for stealing from three estates. Robertson said Stork had reimbursed the estates for some of the stolen money, but he still owns a rare china collection worth more than $1 million.

A letter from a probate judge led to the investigation of Stork.
