A Chicago lawyer accused of using gay slurs to taunt colleagues competing for traffic court cases has agreed to a one-month license suspension.

Thomas Guadagno, 66, acknowledged inappropriate conduct in the deal with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, the Chicago Tribune reports.

He had been accused of describing competing lawyers as “homosexual,” “fag,” “faggot,” “gay scum,” “child molester” and “idiots and morons.” He is also accused of saying one lawyer shouldn’t be hired because he had a “sexual torture chamber in his basement.” The conduct occurred over at least a six-year period.

The agreement calls for a two-year probationary period in addition to the suspension, the Tribune says. During that time Guadagno would have to continue his anger management classes and take an attorney professionalism seminar.
