5 tools for battery charging and language use recommended by legal bloggers

Our lawyer-experts weigh in with new recommendations for apps and tech products. Read the full reviews by following the links.

iPhone J.D. blogger Jeff Richardson helps with languages (including legal):

• If you need to read a document (or even a menu) in another language, you can simply take a picture of the document and use ABBYY Lingvo to show translations under each word on the image.

• The Black’s Law Dictionary app provides all of the information in the current, 9th edition of the legal dictionary. It includes a good search feature and can speak many terms so that you know how to pronounce them. And an app on your iPhone is much more convenient to carry around than the heavy physical book.

The Droid Lawyer blogger Jeffrey Taylor gets a charge out of these:

• The ChargeCard is a great little device that allows you to charge your mobile device, should you forget your charging cable. The ChargeCard is roughly the same size as a credit card, fits into your wallet and connects your mobile device via USB. In a pinch, the ChargeCard works like a charm, saving you the frustration of being stuck with a powered-out battery.

• I’m always looking for ways to charge my devices without resorting to a cable. If you’re looking for extreme, dual-charging power, you’ll want the RAVPower Dual USB Power Bank. This is 10,000 milliampere-hours of battery, so it’s heavier than other portable batteries, but it’s designed to maximize your device’s cordless battery life and minimize the charge time.

• And I’m a huge fan of Google Now and Voice Search for Android. Google Now offers little cards to help organize your life, while Voice Search functions to provide relevant information and perform certain tasks.
