Legal Sector Lost Only 100 Jobs in February

There is good news in February’s job statistics for lawyers and other legal workers battered by the bad economy.

The legal sector lost only 100 jobs in February, the Am Law Daily reports. It’s the second month in a row that legal job losses have declined, the story says. In January, the legal sector lost 1,100 jobs, compared to 2,100 jobs lost in December, according to seasonally adjusted figures by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Am Law Daily calls the lower numbers “one of the more hopeful signs of late.”
