Lindsay Lohan Gets 30 Days for Admitted Probation Violation, Likely Will Serve 6 Days
Updated: Despite recent efforts to impress the judge by diligently working at her community service sentence in the Los Angeles morgue, actress Lindsay Lohan was sentenced today to 30 days for violating her probation in intertwined drunk-driving and necklace-theft cases.
Due to jail overcrowding, the 25-year-old likely will have to serve only six days, reports CBS News, relying on information from the Associated Press.
Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner also imposed stringent new probation conditions on Lohan, who admittedly violated her probation by being terminated from another community service stint at a women’s detention center reportedly due to lack of participation. She will now have to perform all of her community service at the morgue; previously, the requirement was that Lohan do 360 hours at the detention center and 120 hours at the morgue.
Lohan, whose previous probation officer had offered “glowing” reports about her progress, according to the actress’ lawyer, Shawn Holley, will now be supervised by another probation officer who is to report any issues directly to the judge. Monthly court hearings in December, January, February and March will keep Sautner apprised of Lohan’s progress toward meeting the April deadline for completing her community service.
If there is any further probation violation, Lohan will have to serve the remaining 270 days of her sentence. She must obtain the probation officer’s permission to leave the country or the state, which she has reportedly done previously during her probation to work as an actress.
She will begin serving her jail sentence Nov. 9, the L.A. Now blog of the Los Angeles Times reports.
