A California man accused of driving a stolen car to a scheduled San Francisco area court hearing last year in an earlier stolen-car case has pleaded no contest to two felony charges.

The plea by Timothy Frederick Knight, 53, settles both cases, according to Bay City News Service and the San Mateo Daily Journal.

Police in Daly City arrested Knight on Feb. 15 on suspicion of possessing a stolen car, then spotted another stolen car on the street on April 2, the articles explain.

They placed a tracking device on the Honda Accord. It wound up at the South San Francisco Courthouse on April 3, where Knight had a scheduled hearing that day in the earlier stolen-car case. When he exited the courthouse and entered the Accord, he was arrested again.

Knight has previously been convicted of car theft and has seven prior felonies, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. He could get as much as eight years when he is sentenced in February.
