A law professor nominated for a seat on the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals made just under $200,000 last year as a visiting faculty member at Emory University. Plus she earned another $809 in book royalties.

But Victoria Nourse reported a household net worth of nearly $20 million on required U.S. Senate financial disclosure forms, perhaps because of her husband, according to the Blog of Legal Times.

He is Richard Cudahy Jr., a member of the Patrick Cudahy Inc. meat processing family. He also has a job at the Robert W. Baird & Co. investment firm.

If Nourse is confirmed, her net worth would make her one of the wealthiest judges on the federal bench.
