Pa. Inmate in Wired Cell Accused of Offering Cash and Harley for Slaying of Judge, 2 Others
Prosecutors from two Pennsylvania counties today announced that a prison inmate has been charged with plotting to kill a state-court judge.
Lance Patrick Greenawalt, 44, allegedly offered his Camp Hill cellmate cash and a Harley Davidson motorcycle to murder a judge who had overseen a previous case in which Greenawalt was involved and two other unidentified individuals, according to the Gettysburg Times.
A news conference clip linked to the article says authorities gathered some evidence by wiring Greenawalt’s cell. It isn’t clear how the alleged conspiracy came to their attention.
Greenawalt is being charged with criminal solicitation of criminal homicide; criminal attempt of criminal homicide; aggravated assault and burglary. Some of the charges apparently do not relate directly to the alleged plot against the judge.
His claimed target, Adams County Judge Michael George, has remained on the bench throughout the investigation.
