Paris to Appeal, Seek Schwarzenegger Pardon

Lawyer for Paris Hilton have filed notice they will appeal her 45-day sentence for driving on a suspended license.

The document did not reveal possible legal arguments, but Hilton’s attorney Howard Weitzman told the Los Angeles Times that Hilton’s sentence was too harsh.

Lawyers are also seeking a pardon from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has vowed to take seriously any letters or petitions that he receives on her behalf, reports the New York Post.

Legal experts said they doubted either effort would succeed. One lawyer said a better course of action is to seek incarceration at a city jail where extra cash buys an upgraded cell with a regular door and access to a computer or iPod
